The OLC is partnering with Spokane's libraries to teach about the homes that animals build! The summer reading program's theme is Building a Better World. One of our volunteers wrote this article about us, thanks Kim!

Come celebrate Earth Day with us! Plant some flowers to grow at home, play games, and learn about reducing, reusing, and recycling to make the Earth a greener place.
Three of the OLC's staff and three raptors visited Grand Coulee and Davenport to bring the wonder of birds of prey to over 200 students from all over the center of the state. Over the course of Thursday and Friday we taught seven classes of students all about hawks and owls with the help of Stan the Harris Hawk, Hanovi the Great Horned Owl, and Sadie the American Kestrel.
The owl is a popular Halloween image. In Medieval Europe, owls were thought to be witches, and to hear an owl's call meant someone was about to die... Happy Halloween!
