Adopting a bird of prey is a unique and fun way to help support the Outdoor Learning Center's programs and animal care! Great Horned Owls eat 2-3 rats a day, Red Tailed and Harris' Hawks eat 1-2 quail a day, and the Rough Legged Hawk, Barn Owl, Kestrel, and Screech Owl eat 8-10 mice per day. This means that it costs roughly:
- $1,500 for 800-1,000 rats per year
- $1,400 for 3200-3500 mice per year
- $900 for 500-700 quail per year
Animal adoption is a great way to help us continue care for all the beautiful animals that call the OLC home!
